Jack's Journey Continues - Homeward Bound!

So after a week-long respite for some R&R, moose-meat and tourist time with the wife and friends, Jack Broomall is back on the horse and riding again - tearing up the countryside at every turn.

Jack's Latest Handywork..

For those of you joining us late, Jack began his journey about a month ago from Philadelphia on his GS headed for Alaska. His ride is being chronicled autobiographically at 2Wheels2Alaska.com. The purpose for the ride is to raise awareness for the Austin Hatcher Foundation which benefits individuals and families coping with pediatric forms of Cancer.

Jack's return trip will take him South through Canada and the Pacific Northwest as he eventually meanders Eastward back to Philly enjoying the scenery along the way.

The Little GS that Could..

For the entirety of his trip RevZilla will give every customer the ability to donate a dollar of their order to the Austin Hatcher Foundation.

Jack is also a proponent of newer technologies and social media. You can find his updates, ride reports and pics at the below links.

New Products at RevZilla: REV'IT Jerez Gloves and NEXX Helmets

We love new products - Why? Because it allows us to rationalize buying more gear. I know, I know, how many helmets and pairs of gloves can one person own? As many of our current customers will attest to - a lot.

We are saving the rain forests one helmet at a time. (actually buying helmets doesn't help the rain forests, but that's how we rationalize it).

The first on the radar this week is REV'IT!'s brand new flagship race glove, the JEREZ. It is a full gauntlet glove using a mix of very high-end materials which give this glove the highest degree of control and protection. SuperFabric, TPU Dual Composition Hardparts, Kangaroo panels, and Kevlar stitching make it a top of the line contender in the pro level race category at $239.99. It comes in three colors and to date we have seen very few gloves which even play in the same ballpark. It doesn't hurt that it is beautiful either.

NEXX X30 Black Modular Helmet

Also new to the RevZilla.com lineup is the fresh off the boat helmet brand NEXX. Currently NEXX, a Portuguese manufacturer, is offering two styles for its North American debut: the X30 at @349.0 and the X60 at $279.00. These helmets do come in a myriad of colors and trims based on the two shell shapes though. Overall we were impressed enough with the styling and the glowing reviews from Rick at WebBikeWorld (X30 Helmet Review & X60 Review) to quickly decide to offer them. The modular X30 is also ECE 22.05 rated, something of a feat for modulars.

NEXX X30 VIPER Modular Flipped Up.

We also loved the Vintage, Retro and Neo feeling options for the X60 Open Face. We are happy that all of the flavors of cafe, vintage and scooter riders now have another high-end option in a multitude of styles to compliment them.

We are interested in any and all feedback on these new additions. Don't hesitate to leave us a message or shoot us a line!

TeamZilla & Dainese visit Italy... MotoGP or BUST!

This year we had the privilege of being invited to Italy for six days by Dainese. For those of you who don't know, Dainese as a brand, could be mused as Armani's beauty meets Nike's techincal innovation and reach tailored specifically for the moto world. From what we have seen, stocked and sold at RevZilla, we have always been impressed with the quality and level of craftsmanship of their leathers, textiles, footwear and gloves.

We flew to Italy to see the 2010 lineup and spent 6 days traversing the Italian countryside in between stops to tour facilities, showrooms, factories and .... a racetrack?

Yup, I said a racetrack. They took us to Mugello for MotoGP and we got paddock passes. "Sick" is the word I have been using to describe the whole adventure.

As far as perks go, I would have to say that this Italian adventure's stop at Mugello for the MotoGP could be right up there with a previous client from a previous life letting me be a judge for a bikini contest at a prominent casino for a few years in my single days.

We toured Dainese Corporate and the D-Cube in Vicenza, Dainese R&D in Molvena, hit dinners in Venice, Vicenza, Verona & Florence and were chauffeured around in semi-style - a 9 person sprinter like eurobus that topped out at 95mph and only hit the wall once on a narrow stone-lined road in the Dolemites. We lost a mirror and Nick had to change his shorts. After that all of our long van ride memories were supplanted by Tylenol PM car comas.

All in all, thanks to the "D" posse - adventures, racing and leather in one euro-trip are hard to top... well, you could add some sexy to those leathers... maybe a fashion show next year!?!

We have 3 full albums of pics on RevZilla's Flickr page. Dainese and Gear, Mugello MotoGP & Candid's of TeamZilla with our Travelmates including the Fake Ric Flair.

Here are some of our other favorites -

RevZilla to Wasilla for Pediatric Cancer Update

At this point Jack's adventure from Philadelphia to Alasaka is well underway. He has thwarted treacherous roads, unruly weather and the occasional bear. Go Jack!

Through all of it, he managed to stop and plant a monster RevZilla sticker on the sign for the beginning of the Alaska Highway. Sweet!

You can still follow him on his blog at 2Wheels2Alaska.com, @JackBroomall and ADV Rider

Also you can read more about the Austin Hatcher Foundation
