Summer protection with feminine style, the Scorpion Nip Tuck Jacket has succeeded so far for its optimum combination of ventilation and protection. The Women's Scorpion Nip Tuck II Jacket builds upon this foundation with improved fit, additional styling, and the big notable: Sas-Tec armor!
Aside from the Sas-Tec addition, which is a molecular level armor that becomes rigid upon impact to absorb energy and protect the wearer, one of the most obvious changes is the corset-style adjustment along the sides. This gives a substantial range of fit for a variety of frames and shapes, but can be a hit or miss from a fashion standpoint. If you like this look, the lacing will stand out in nicely either the Orchid or Gold colorways.
Scorpion Women's Nip Tuck II Jacket Review:
While the embroidery, removable AirGuard liner, and unique side lacing make this an ideal pick from Scorpion for spring/summer/fall, those who are looking to spend less of an investment for Summer weather only may prefer the Scorpion Verano Jacket instead.

Dainese Full Metal RS Gloves - New Top Dog from Dainese
The Dainese Full Metal Pro has been top of the food chain for several years, but Dainese won't leave good enough alone! This year, they've made it better.
The reason for the re-design has to do with the new European CE Standard that certifies an entire garment outside of the individual protectors. In this way, the Dainese Full Metal RS Gloves are the most protective option we've seen yet and Rossi, Hayden, and Bradl seem to agree.
Running down the list, here are the main differences from last year's model:
Dainese Full Metal RS Gloves Review:
In addition to all the tech improvements, the Full Metal RS Gloves are now available in several new colors, including Black/White/FluorYellow, Black/White/KawiGreen, and Black/White/MetallicBlue.

Running down the list, here are the main differences from last year's model:
- A small carbon fiber ulna protector is replaced by a larger raised and molded TPU piece at the wrist.
- The digital elastication has been improved for added flexibility while keeping reinforced Kevlar stitching for protection.
- The fit on the pinky has been improved to include slightly less pre-curve. This may or may not be an improvement for some.
- Digital elastication along the thumb is improved and a additional carbon fiber slider has been added.
- Improved segmentation of materials across the palm for grip on the controls where needed.
- A low profile scaphoid protector adds comfort and less potential to grab the road in a crash.

Alpinestars 2013 SMX Plus Boots - Now CE Rated
A common theme from our European boot manufacturers this year, Alpinestars has updated their SMX Plus Boots to carry the overall CE rating for boots. This is an all encompassing boot certification rather than the CE rating given to each protector or piece of armor.
Here are a few cliff notes on the rest of the changes:

You can watch our full video breakdown of the Alpinestars SMX Plus Boots below.
Alpienstars 2013 SMX Plus Boots Review:
This iteration of the Astars SMX Plus boot is an improvement upon last year and sits just under the Supertech-R along the Alpinestars boot line. It is available in standard or perforated versions. If you would like a quick overview of the Alpinestars SMX Plus Vented Boots, watch our brief overview below.
Alpinestars 2013 SMX Plus Vented Boots Review:
Outside of the updates to the tech on this boot, the style and design changes that have come along look cleaner to me. A"step" in the right direction if you ask me! Har... har ... I'll be here all night, folks.

Here are a few cliff notes on the rest of the changes:

- The back of the heel has been redesigned including the multi-link suspension system at the ankle. This system is better encapsulated, protecting the screws and offering a lower profile so as not to catch on anything while riding (or crashing!).
- The rear heel vent has been removed, while a vent has been added across the top of the foot.
- The molded TPU protector comes up higher for better coverage. It also meets up with the accordion stretch panels a bit more nicely.

Dunlop Sportmax Q3 Emerges! Pole Position Rubber
Kenny Roberts was the first road racer to introduce the concept of getting your "knee down" on the track. Marc Marquez looks like the first to amp that up to getting your "elbow down" in recent weeks. These talented riders push the limits of technology, particularly the research and development behind tires. While we'll never have a level of MotoGP advantage in an off-the-shelf tire, each progression at the pro level passes down a bit more stick from track to street.

Into the limelight, the Dunlop Sportmax Q3 Tire emerges! This iteration of the Sportmax Tire includes Dunlop's Carbon Fiber Technology (CFT) along the tire sidewalls. This gives a boost to corner performance and edge grip, while maintaining an exceptional feel. The Sportmax Q3 tire compounds have been updated to produce maximum sport riding performance. Added on top of the Intuitive Response Profile (IRP) that we saw in their Dunlop Q2 model, the Dunlop Q3 takes the best of your racing skills and responds quickly and smoothly in a predictable fashion.

While we would classify the Q3 mostly as a track day tire due to the reduction in grooves along the tread, the tread placement and groove length improve wet-weather performance over the Q2. Multi-Tread technology in the rear does give better tread life for road use while still keeping excellent lateral grip compounds at the edges. However, in the unpredictable conditions of street use, we would advise that you will get the most out this tire at the track.
Dunlop Q3 Review:
The Dunlop Q3 Sportmax Tire gives no guarantee of getting your elbow down at the track, but the advancements in technology bring us one step closer to feeling like Marquez.

Olympia Sizing and Buying Guide
Based out of North Carolina, Olympia Moto Sports has been making high-end motorcycle touring and commuting gear for over a decade. Given the well-established nature of the brand, we want to make sure that customers have a resource for comparing their models and determining fit. Our video guide covers the majority of their jackets and pants. We point out their unique advantages as well as break down the cut and shape of these garments.
In general, Olympia tends to be a bit more conservative in style, and has a more American shape. You don't have to be built like a jockey to fit into these! Their generous cut allows almost anyone to find a size that will fit, even those riders with more unique features like wide shoulders, long legs, or even a large gut. If you don't have any stand-out dimensions, Olympia should still fit you well considering their easy adjustability through various cinches, straps and even their EZ-Hem system. The EZ-Hem feature means that the zippers on all of their pant legs stop 6-inches short, leaving velcro to extend down to the cuff. This allows you to quickly tailor the length of the pant without running into problems. All in all, Olympia Size Charts are quite easy to read, but if you fall between sizes, we would recommend choosing the smaller of the two for both men's and women's apparel.
Olympia Sizing & Buying Guide:
Sizing aside, we find Olympia to be geared primarily toward the adventure and sport-touring rider. Their jackets and pants easily zip together, many include destination liners, High-Viz colorways are readily available, and their warranty and customer services are consistently top-notch.
We will continue to support Olympia as one of our preferred major brands as they continue to support the motorcycle community with products that fit, function, and feel great on the road.

New Scorpion Gloves: Good, Better, Best!
Three new Scorpion short cuff gloves hit the shelves recently. The Scorpion Cool Hand II are the most rudimentary, followed by more robust Scorpion Klaw II, and topped off with the more aggressive Scorpion SGS. Between the three, you shouldn't have any problem with summer glove selection this season.

The Scorpion Cool Hand II Gloves are a basic mesh option with padding in the knuckle and overlays in the palm for comfort. NightViz reflective piping is used for added visibility, while the inner fingers offer flexibility with Lycra inserts. This is a good glove at a good price and we'll leave it at that.
Scorpion Cool Hand II Gloves Review:

Made from a more durable goatskin leather, the Scorpion Klaw II Gloves offer more substantial protection, with their TPU molded knuckle armor. A slight pre-curve helps you grab the controls with ease and Neoprene detailing around the wrist provide additional comfort.
Scorpion Klaw II Gloves Review:

Adding Knox SPS palm sliders, Superfabric armor plating and a kangaroo skin palm, the Scorpion SGS Gloves are the top of this short-cuff pile. Additional protection comes from a Kevlar reinforced palm and Kevlar reinforced finger seams. Top grade perforated leather make this an excellent balance between summer comfort and substantial protection.
Scorpion SGS Gloves Review:
In our opinion, this is a good, better, best scenario. Get the SGS Gloves if your wallet allows, but if not then trade down comfort and protection accordingly. See the full Scorpion Glove line-up at RevZilla.com.

Biltwell Helmets: Just Shut Up and Ride!
Sometimes fish gotta swim upstream. In the world of chrome, bling, and fancy farkles, there are those who value simple, clean design. Biltwell was founded out of a desire to focus on the rider who spends his hours in his garage fashioning home-brewed solutions, looking for quality pieces to work with. Classic crafting on timeless bikes fly in the face of the the more mainstream bolt-on this and chromed-out that.
Once you have your masterpiece running and out of the garage, the last thing you want to do is tarnish your piece of art with a modern helmet, full of buttons, sliders, graphics, and gauges! Go back to basics, look up those old pictures of your dad on his Shovelhead, and see what he had to protect his noggin. Obviously vintage-inspired, the Biltwell Gringo Helmet has the old-fashioned spirit of adventure, but not much more. If your wheels are turning, and the horizon is getting closer, what more do you really need? Just shut up and ride.
Biltwell Gringo Helmet Review:
Lets review: It is DOT-rated. It has two holes in the shell, one for your neck, and another for seeing out of. There are snaps for use with a bubble shield if you really must complicate things. Don't worry, these days they don't smell like puke. The Gringo Helmet can be ordered in Black, Flat Black, Hazard Orange, Matte Titanium, and Vintage White. In our professional opinion, the Matte Titanium is the most badass.
The Gringo speaks for himself and will get you into more trouble than he's worth.

If the Gringo is too much lid for your free spirit, they also produce the Biltwell Bonanza Helmet. The concept is the same, sans chin bar. Available in colors like Flat Red Primer, Wine Metallic, Gang Green, and Rootbeer, the Bonanza should wet just about any antique appetite your motorbike craves.
Biltwell Bonanza Helmet Review:
I think I've learned you enough for one day. Bam! Biltwell Helmets.

Icon Airmada Hoodoo Helmet: Some Serious Voodoo Juju
Dong... the clock strikes midnight!
What madness concocted? What magic conjured? This incantation spawns for one sole purpose: to steal your soul! The latest in dark magic out of the annals of Portland has got some serious Voodoo juju. It calls itself the Icon Airmada Hoodoo Helmet.
Icon Airmada Hoodoo Helmet Review:
Whether you are a Hunsi Kanzo, a Mambo Priestess, or a straight up Gro Hungan, the Airmada Hoodoo Helmet has got something for your supernatural practice. On one side, a possessed goat skull spirit reaches for your face, ever staring into your spirit with his glowing red eyes. If that is too spine chilling, just spin the helmet around to be comforted by an equally disturbed Demonatrix. Don't worry, I'm sure that look of hunger in her eyes is just for a McChicken Deluxe.

Speaking of bones, and chills for that matter, note the custom "ICON" logo across the top of this lid, which is completed with a branded skull and cross-bones on the backside. Admit it, you hold your breath inside your helmet when you pass a graveyard. Know this, those graves will be holding their breath when you pass wearing the Icon Airmada Hoodoo. The best part of this head-consuming religion is that both Mr. and Mrs. Beelzebub glow in the dark! Make sure your vodouisant helmet gets plenty of sunshine so that your guardian ghasts will watch over you all night long.
There are only a select few that have the mojo to wear this juju. Are you one of them?

Break it down! Schuberth Sizing and Model Guide
So someone turned you on to Schuberth Helmets. Perhaps it was your over-protective mother (Happy Mother's Day!), perhaps it was a riding buddy, or maybe it was that crazy guy in the purple shirt. Whatever the case may be, you have come to the realization that this discovery was just about the best thing that happened to you aside from buying your first motorcycle. But, wait! There is more than just one model! How are you supposed to choose? How will they fit? What is this new "C3 Pro" business? Look no further, we have the answers.
With 90 years of history, Schuberth has quite a bit of momentum in the helmet world. On top of this, their pedigree is obsessively compulsively German, which comes with an extensive level of engineering and attention to detail. Currently, Schuberth Helmets has four models available in the US, six if you count the C3 and C3 Pro women's versions separately. In broad strokes, the SR1 is their race helmet, the S2 is their aggressive sport-touring model, and the C3 Pro is the sequel to the modular juggernaut that led Schuberth's launch into the states a few years ago. Both the C3 and C3 Pro are available in women's specific versions that are internally designed for the shape of a woman's face. In addition, the liner material and shell shape are catered to the needs of female riders on these versions.
Schuberth Helmet Sizing & Buying Guide:
All of Schuberth's helmet models use composite fiber with S.T.R.O.N.G. technology, all are DOT and ECE rated, all but the race SR1 Helmet use drop-down sun visors as well as built-in bluetooth functionality.
We hope that our buying guide video helps de-mystify some of the terminology and technology that encompass the Schuberth Helmet brand.

New Speed & Strength Speed Shop Boots
An aggressive take on the classic work boot, the Speed & Strength Speed Shop Boots combine casual style with serious protection business. The boot itself is quite simply constructed with subtle branding and clean function.
The chassis of the Speed Shop boot is made from synthetic leather and styled with zig-zag stitching as well as the Speed and Strength imprint across the sole. All of the standard armor is included, sporting internal toe and ankle reinforcements. In addition, the "Lockdown" adjusters use metal buckles to ensure a solid hold on your foot. To take them off, simply unbuckle the adjusters and use the side zipper to allow easy exit. While not waterproof, the S&S Speed Shop Boots do come with an anti-slip rubber outsole.
Speed and Strength Speed Shop Boots Review:
No shoe is left unturned with Speed and Strength. Whatever your style, wherever your riding takes you, there is always a Speed & Strength Boot to suit your fancy.

The Man Behind the Redverz Tent
You may have heard of Redverz Tents, but what do you know about Kevin Muggleton? The man behind the brand is just as unique and compelling as his products; a true life-bred motorcyclist. Learning his story gives us perspective on the products he designs and the passion that he carries for them.
Kevin started as a photographer and videographer for National Geographic. By necessity, he had to use two wheels to traverse many of the on-location shoots in remote destinations. National Geographic would supply Kevin with all of the supplies needed to ride, camp, and complete the various shoots. Over the ten years he spent living out of tents, Kevin began to see some shortfalls in the equipment he had available to him. This all culminated in a trip to Mali, Africa, where he was forced to leave the bulk of his motorcycle gear outside of his tent one night. In the morning, he awoke to find that everything was gone, stolen while he slept.

This experience, and the frustration that followed as Kevin tried to reclaim or replace his lost items while on the road in Mali, was the impetus that started the first Redverz Motorcycle Tent. The main goal was to design a tent specifically for bike travel so that all a motorcyclist's gear could fit inside along with his or her bike. This is a tall order, especially considering the large ADV bikes that this product is marketed to, as well as the fact that Kevin was designing in part for his own 6'4" tall frame. Nevertheless, he succeeded and followed up his first creation with an improved Redverz Series II Expedition Tent.

The Redverz Series 2 Tent incorporates almost 50 changes from the original, including better poles, better fabric, more high-wind resistance and more interior space. All this was accomplished without increasing the overall weight, which comes in right at 13 lbs. When packed down, it will take up just a 21"x9"x9" footprint -- easily stored atop luggage, or across a rear rack. Kevin demonstrates the easy Redverz Tent Setup in a short video. With practice, this can easily be done in less than five minutes, and he stresses that it is designed to be easy to assemble even in adverse weather conditions.

Thats not all that you'll find from Redverz Gear! Knowing the inherent pitfalls of constant use and wear, Kevin also produces a Redverz Series II Ground Cloth to protect the tent floor. You can also purchase an awning kit for extended shade and dry bag made by Redverz.
It is a rare occurrence to see such extensive experience come with a product like the Redverz Tent. Often times, testing and development only come after an item hits the market. In this case, we get to benefit from the life and two-wheel pursuits of Kevin Muggleton as they've applied in his meticulous design and engineering of these products. Redverz Tents and Gear put you out in the wild, where durability and longevity count the most. You can trust that Kevin has very literally "been there, done that."
