Still in South Dakota. I may have mentioned this before but, I'm doing this ride to raise money and awareness for Native American women who are victims of domestic violence and sexual assault; and their children. Today I visited Wanblee, a small town on an Indian reservation southeast of the Badlands. Though the unemployment rate in SD is actually very good at 4.5% (especially considering the current economic climate), the unemployment rate on reservations is perpetually around 95%. The towns are absolutely devastated. With no money, women on reservations who are abused have virtually no way to escape their abusers themselves, let alone with their children; except with the help of organizations like the South Dakota Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. So if you're enjoying my adventure updates, please considering taking the time to make a donation of any size from either my blog or the SDCADVSA. Thanks, Tony
