Speed and Strength Twist of Fate Gear

Worried about safety when hitting the track or going on a spirited weekend ride? Not to worry, fate is on your side when geared up with the Speed & Strength Twist of Fate collection. This line is Speed and Strength’s new “top dog” and should not be taken lightly when it comes to crash protection. A few weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to get a sneak peak at some of their new gear and can give you a hands-on idea of how these pieces stack up.

First in the line is the Speed and Strength Twist of Fate 3.0 Race Suit. After handling the suit, my first impression was that this is easily going to sell for $1,000+. The leather was incredibly soft and malleable - similar to the feeling of your favorite broken in leather jacket, but had a perfect, brand new finish to it. S&S did not detail us on the tanning procedure of the leather, but I am convinced it borders the realm of black magic.

Thankfully, for those of us who are not hitting the track every weekend, S&S decided to cut the race suit in half, making it into a street friendly jacket. The same incredibly comfortable leather was used for the Speed and Strength Twist of Fate Leather Jacket, and they added some kick-ass metal shoulder sliders as well. The jacket runs a little on the large side, but it has a great cut for street riding with a slight pre-curve to the arms. It definitely is not something that would be uncomfortable on a cruiser, but a sport oriented rider can certainly appreciate it.

S&S did not leave out the hot weather and city rider. The Speed and Strength Twist of Fate Textile Jacket is almost an exact match to the leather, with a lightweight spin. I would have to say that the white/neon yellow was my favorite of the batch - adding just the right amount of highly visible accents to a very stylish design.

The last of the demo was the new Speed and Strength Twist of Fate 3.0 RR Gloves. For the money, these are some of the best, track rated, full gauntlet gloves available. The Twist of Fate 3.0 RRs featured ample impact and sliding protection, all while having a Pittards palm for an amazingly tactile feel. If you are looking to get into track riding, want the best protection for the street, or are on a budget, stop what you are doing right now and give these gloves a look.

Quite frankly, Speed and Strength are doing it right. Their Twist of Fate line is some of the best stuff available, at a fraction of a cost to some of their competitors, all while keeping the quality top notch. The feel of the leather on their jacket and suit is unparalleled in the rest of the industry, making a one piece race suit very comfortable for you track day junkies. Before you shell out some serious cash for the competition, give the Speed and Strength a try, I would be happy to leave my Fate in their hands.
