Bell MX-9 MIPS Pro Circuit Replica Helmet
New for this year, Bell updated their entry-level MX-9 dirt helmet to include MIPS technology. The flagship MX-9 helmet for the fall is going to be the Pro Circuit replica graphic, which comes with Monster logos and matching neon green camo print.
Structurally, the Bell MX-9 MIPS Pro Circuit Replica Helmet does not change from the current MX-9. You still get a polycarbonate shell in three shell sizes, with a fully removable and washable inner liner. The chin bar gets EPS as well, the ventilation system carries over, and the helmets are still DOT and ECE certified.
Bell MX-9 MIPS Pro Circuit Replica Review:
The big news is the addition of MIPS. MIPS stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System, which is a slip-plane technology inside the helmet designed to reduce rotational forces that can result from certain impacts. This layer is designed to rotate inside the helmet with the intent to potentially slow or reduce the amount of energy transferred to or from the head. At the end of the day, this means less energy gets transmitted to your brain and your neck. Now that's a real win-win.
