REV'IT! Airwave 2 Jacket & Airwave 2 Pants: Back for More

I have found myself recommending the Airwave to a score of warm weather riders over the past year without hesitation. The Airwave offers Rev’it!’s lauded quality and precision fit at an entry level price point. Combine that with the refined, subtle, modern design sense of the Netherlands and what you have is the very definition of the term “bang for the buck”. Not to mention that, due to the large mesh panels, the Airwave is not just “cool”, it is very good at keeping you cool.

REV'IT! Airwave 2 Motorcycle JacketThe new version of the REV'IT! Airwave 2 Jacket and Pants feature some major styling changes, while keeping the large mesh panels that define the Airwave. Functionally, this jacket will perform just like it’s predecessor, but if you think this is just a matter of changing the wallpaper you’d only be mostly right. This is because in select colors there is actually a printed diamond pattern reminiscent of a chain link fence printed on the shoulders and the outside edge of the sleeve. That’s easily worth 2-3 horsepower in my book. The REV'IT! Airwave 2 Women's Jacket is also available for female riders.

REV'IT! Airwave 2 Jacket Review:

REV'IT! Airwave 2 Motorcycle PantsThe major upgrade to the REV'IT! Airwave 2 Pants comes in the form of a redesign of the mesh paneling, which removes the “rock climbing harness” look, which made its predecessor so distinctive. Obviously that is a miss. It is also worth noting that the full zip has been replaced by one that stops below the knee, so we can no longer consider this a true overpant. That said, wearing a second pair of pants under a mesh riding pant is negates the purpose. As with the Airwave 2 Jacket, the REV'IT! Airwave 2 Pants provide female riders with a specifically designed option that has a more feminine cut.

Overall, this simple redesign has left everything I love about the Airwave in tact and, as such, I cannot recommend it enough for enjoying all the awe-inspiring roads available in otherwise too hot to ride climates.

REV'IT! Air Jackets: Airwave 2 & Akira Air

Tony - Content Coordinator

It’s getting cold in Philadelphia. That sort of happens this time of year. Ugh. However, according to this internet thing, it is 83 degrees and sunny in Orlando, FL right now. Maybe that’s why the American International Motorcycle Expo chooses to set up shop there every year, and may also be why REV’IT! is showcasing its newest hot-weather jackets to the public today.

REV'IT! Airwave 2 Motorcycle JacketThe first warm-weather jacket on the docket is the reimagined REV’IT! Airwave 2 jacket. Now, for anyone who has scoped a mesh jacket in the past few years, that name should sound incredibly familiar. Like, exactly the same as jacket that you have seen before, minus the denotation of the “2” at the end, that part is definitely new. The reasoning is that the Airwave that REVIT initially introduced to the world was without question one of the best jackets in terms of functionality and value on the market. It was super light, super lean, and totally built to move air throughout. It did what it did and didn’t try to be something that it wasn’t. That is the sign of a well-crafted, focused, and confident piece of gear. The new REVIT Airwave 2 will undoubtedly do be of the same ilk.

REV'IT! Akira Air Motorcycle JacketNext on the list is something completely new and comes to the game like a ninja of virtue in a thunderous storm of “KA-POW!” It is the REV’IT! Akira Air Jacket, and in case that introductory sentence didn’t make it abundantly clear, we are fans! While hard facts on the Akira haven’t been made readily available yet, one look at this leather beast is all it takes to see the sleek lines, aggressive styling, and total precision of purpose. And for the riders living up here in the north like we are at RevZilla HQ, not to worry… summer is coming!

With so much going on at the AIMExpo right now, our gear gurus are on the ground in Orlando reporting all of the best new information back to us, and in turn, we are making it available to you as soon as possible. We will keep at it throughout today, so stay tuned for more!

Have fun out there, be safe, and as always…

Enjoy the ride,

Juice
