Olympia New 2011 Gear Overview

Brand new Olympia Gear has arrived to RevZilla.com for 2011. They've revamped some of their top-selling products, making improvements that take this gear to the next level, and introduced a brand new jacket for this season. New products (that will be shipping within the next couple of weeks and are currently available for pre-order) include the Olympia AST 2 Jacket, the Ranger 3 Over Pants, Recon 3 Mesh Pants, brand new ADV Touring Olympia Moab Jacket, and the women's Olympia Pro Max 2 Pants.

First up, our Olympia AST 2 Jacket Review:

The brand new Olympia AST 2 Jacket, also available as the Olympia Women's AST 2 Jacket, has received some major upgrades over its predecessor. First, the color blocking has changed to give the AST 2 a more streamlined and stylish look. The chest vents are now longer and feature a fold-open flap that creates an airfoil for improved airflow. Brand new microflection panels at the upper chest are highly visible but maintain the style of the jacket, and stylish thermowelded reflective details have been added to the upper sleeves. The entire circumference of collar is now neoprene-lined for comfort and a snug seal against wind. AST stands for "All Season Touring" and the waterproof breathable functionality of this jacket, in addition to its immense amount of venting and removable Thermolite liner guarantee four-season functionality.

Next is our Olympia Moab Jacket Review:

The Olympia Moab Jacket is brand new for this year and a welcomed addition to the Olympia lineup. Designed for multi-season ADV Touring, the Moab is a combo construction of abrasion-resistant ballistic mesh panels with 500D Cordura in impact areas. For colder weather riding, there is a two-stage liner system: a waterproof breathable outer liner with a zip-in Thermolite insulated layer. Equipped with CE rated shoulder, elbow and back protectors, the Moab has two expandable front storage pockets, styled in a box construction, which are large enough to house a pair of goggles. The rear rabbit pouch pocket is completely waterproof and large enough to store the liners. Replacing the Olympia Bushwhacker Jacket, the Moab is going to be extremely popular in the warm-weather ADV community.

Next up, our Olympia Ranger 3 Over Pants Review:

The Rangers have been Olympia's popular four-season waterproof breathable pant option, and the new Olympia Ranger 3 Over Pants will continue that tradition in their lineup. Major upgrades for the new iteration are: the new, more streamlined design of the pocket configuration; the addition of the waterproof zipper to the cargo pockets for a true "dry" pocket; new zippered side entry pockets; 3M Scotchlite piping has been extended all the way down the legs; the new lining is a comfort mesh that will be comfortable with the liners out in hot weather riding; finally, the cuff has been widened to accommodate dualsport boots. These pants truly are the match for the AST 2 jacket, designed for all-season all-weather sport and ADV touring. Women's version are the Olympia Women's Pro Max 2 Over Pants.

Last but not least, the Olympia Recon 3 Mesh Pants Review:

The Olympia Recon 3 Mesh Pants are an excellent warm/hot weather sport and ADV touring pant option. Built to work in conjunction the Moab, Olympia Viper or Olympia Airglide 3, the Recon 3 Pants will easily tackle long summer touring rides, rugged dualsport rides, or the commute to the office. Similar to the Moab, Olympia has added the box-style pockets to the Recon 3 for easy storage of goggles. They've also increased the size of the leg opening to be more accommodating to dual sport riders. Another great feature of the Recon 3 pants is their ability to quickly transform from riding pants to stylish cargo shorts. A 500D Cordura construction with heavy-duty ballistic nylon mesh, the Olympia Recon 3 Mesh Pants are a great choice for mid-Spring to mid-Fall riding no matter what your style.

That concludes the look at the new Olympia gear for 2011. We've been impressed with the quality of their gear for the American rider over the last several years and this new wave of product is no stray from that.
