Today Icon unveiled their newest graphic in the Raiden line up of summer gear. The Deadfall graphic pays tribute to the knuckle-busting, backcountry, tree-swerving riding that has caught most of the country by storm. This new graphic accompanies the already popular Raiden line of gear to add a bit of flare to an already well designed glove and jersey set.
The new Icon Raiden Deadfall Gloves are still some of the best minimalist and comfortable gloves that will offer some protection to the rider’s knuckles. A low-grade (yet still protective) D3O knuckle guard is well hidden on the interior of the glove, making it very hard to notice. Icon decided to not utilize the most protective types of D3O in this area, which would have caused a bulkier-backhand and would have hindered movement. The textile/mesh hybrid (poly-mesh) used in the glove’s fabric allows optimum air-flow throughout, with an accompanied goatskin palm to allow for less wear and more protection. The palm also is completely seamless to avoid any sort of bunching of material or annoyance while trail carving.
The Icon Raiden Deadfall Jersey is the perfect accompanying-ally to the gloves, offering the same polymesh material all throughout the jersey. This polymesh material offers a slight bit of stretch (approximately .5” when pulled) to reduce any sort of snagging or distractions while brapping through the woods/forest/campsite. The jersey’s diagonal shoulder seams are designed to avoid any sort of hindrance on the arms which is crucial to any rider that has their 2 wheel steed fighting back at every log and turn. Icon also added a nice feature in the collar to avoid any sort of bunching or excess material, making two separate portions in the front and back which are not connected at the collar-bone.
Overall, the new Deadfall graphic for the Icon Raiden line-up is on par with the Icon mentality and design: inspired by and for riders who want to not only be protected while riding the backwoods, but look good at the campsite when they arrive. Sizing for both of these items is still true to Icon’s past, I have a 43.5” chest and 9” hand measurement and the Large in both the gloves and jersey fit perfectly.
Don’t be the jabroni at your RV/campsite that doesn’t match gear because when the mud wipes off, let’s be honest, that’s all that really matters to you
