Let’s just say it plainly, nobody does vintage style and modern-day classic aficionado quite like Roland Sands. With a distinct aesthetic that is as instantly recognizable as any in the business, and an eye for detail that rivals any artisan in any medium, the gear that RSD puts out continually moves the needle for the genre. They do not pretend to be something they are not, and they certainly make no apologies for what they are. With a long line of hugely successful leather jackets, the Roland Sands Design team has tried their hand with a lineup of Waxed Cotton jackets that incorporate the signature RSD aesthetic, yet with a new twist.
Leading off in is the Roland Sands Kent Jacket. Simple in its nature and minimal in branding, this is a jacket that would be just fine loading trucks as it is cruising the lanes of the open highways between them. With British Millerain 10.5oz Waxed Cotton exterior, the Kent jacket gets things kicked off for Roland Sands and is the entry point into the world of the jackets to come. Lean, mean, and looking good in the Roland Sands way. The Kent jacket comes in Black, Blue, and a subtly refined Olive Green that draws attention without screaming through a bullhorn.

If something a little more technical is what you are looking for, the Roland Sands Edwards Jacket is going to be a step up in functionality. As with the Kent, the Edwards jacket is constructed of British Millerain 10.5oz Waxed Cotton and exudes blue-collar, train-tracks toughness. Aside from the longer cut and increased pocket space, the Edwards jacket makes use of a waterproof barrier and taped seams to keep you dry should your travels take you through inclement conditions. Additionally, the Edwards boasts a removable quilted thermal vest, reflective details, and custom RSD trims.

Then there is the Roland Sands Houston Jacket. As one of the most technical pieces that has come out of the RSD labs, the Houston jacket (along with the Edwards) has carved out a unique place for itself in the RSD lineup. Constructed of the same Waxed Cotton outer shell as the Edwards and the Kent, the Houston jacket is cut to more of a touring / long-haul coverage and will have increased on-body pocket space when compared to its brethren in the RSD family. As with the Edwards jacket, the Houston is waterproof, armor-ready at the shoulders / elbows / back, and backed by a removable quilted thermal vest.

Roland Sands Designs have made a name for themselves by creating vintage-inspired gear with moxy. That is never going to stop. With the new lineup of Waxed Cotton jackets, however, we are seeing an introduction to more technically inspired pieces which boast ample functionality to coincide with their great style.
Have fun out there, be safe, and as always…
Enjoy the ride,
