Scorpion EXO-AT950 Helmet: All-in-One

In 1884 Karl Elsener and his mother came up with an idea for one item that did the job of many. It was efficient. It was compact. It was unlike anything else available at the time. It was also a huge success. So much so, in fact, that to this day their product is synonymous with packing a ton of functionality into a single package. The same ethos is behind the design and development of the new Scorpion EXO-AT950 motorcycle helmet. With a plethora of capabilities and a unique placement in the market, the EXO-AT950 helmet is something that Karl Elsener and his Swiss Army Knife could certainly appreciate.

Scorpion EXO-AT950 Motorcycle HelmetIn looking at the Scorpion EXO-AT950 Helmet, the vast feature set is immediately evident. It is a modular dual-sport motorcycle helmet that can go off road or on with equal aplomb. As with all modular helmets, the EXO-AT950 provides the ability to raise the chin bar when stopped, without fully removing the helmet itself. Whether riders are looking to chow down a snack, have a conversation, or simply get some air to the face after long hours in the saddle, such functionality is a favorite of the long-range touring crowd who spend extended hours in the saddle. At the same time, the EXO-AT 950 helmet offers the features that Dual Sport riders value as well. From the enlarged eye ports that allow for the use of motorcycle goggles when going off road, to the peak that works to deflect roost and block the sun while on the off-road, Scorpion has brought together various riding disciplines with the AT950 helmet in a way that few have attempted to before.

Scorpion EXO-AT950 Helmet Review:

Structurally speaking, the Scorpion EXO-AT950 is crafted from an advanced LG Polycarb material throughout the outer shell. Underneath, a dual density multi-layer EPS provides advanced energy displacement to back the strength and durability of the outer shell itself. At the same time, as with most helmets made for Dual-Sport and off-road riding, Scorpion did not skimp on the venting. When working hard on the pegs, airflow is paramount and with the EXO-AT950 helmet, the engineers have crafted a design that maximizes airflow not only around the helmet for reduced drag, but also through the interior for better circulation. Additional features of the Scorpion EXO-AT950 include an EverClear no-fog face shield, a SpeedView drop-down sun visor, a KwickWIck II anti-microbial helmet liner, and KwickFit cheek pads that allows for ease of fitment with most common styles of eyeglasses.

For riders interested in the kind of helmet that is built for it all, the Scorpion EXO-AT950 is an option that is treading in entirely new waters. While there are a very limited handful of other modular, Dual-Sport lids on the market, the AT950 is the first one to come in at a non-ultra-premium price point. It is a choice that lets adventurous, long-range riders get their toes wet, see how they like the “do-all” style, and trek confidently down any road (or trail) that they choose.

Have fun out there, be safe, and as always...

Enjoy the ride,

Juice
