Icon Airframe Helmet Review: HD Vid

Since busting onto the scene with aggressively styled motorcycle gear for sport bike riders developed by sport bike riders, Icon Motosports has commanded industry respect due to the high level of quality and performance that their gear consistently delivers. The Icon Airframe Helmet and the Icon Airframe Carbon Lifeform Helmet are no different. With in-depth R&D and some serious thoughtfulness, Icon has created a helmet in the Airframe that flows immense amounts of air, is protective and comfortable, and offers superior aerodynamics.

Icon makes high-quality street riding motorcycle gear with aggressive styling and great performance. Icon's research and testing is utterly exhausting, with no questions unanswered and nothing developed haphazardly. The Icon Airframe is constructed of a fiberglass, carbon fiber and dyneema composite shell, which when couple with the dual-density EPS drmatically reduces the chance of head injury in the event of an accident. The next-generation Proshield offers a field of view much bigger than most faceshields and can be quickly changed without tools. It also features the Prolock shield locking mechanism which will ensure that your shield stays down, even when doing a head-check at 160mph (not that we condone driving THAT fast.. ;-).

The Hydradry moisture wicking liner is antimicrobial and antibacterial, it is fully removable and washable as well. It also has a removable breath deflector to cut back on the amount of shield fogging.

Which brings us to what makes Icon motorcycle helmets so desirable: airflow. The Airframe has massive intake and exhaust vents that flow through an oversized channeling system creating great venturi effect airflow inside the helmet. You will never be hot in this helmet, even when you're tearing down the highway in 100ยบ smoldering summer heat. Icon has this ventilation thing nailed.

This helmet is available in three solids, nearly twenty graphic options, a flat black rubberized rubatone, and a carbon fiber version.
