REV'IT Cayenne Pro Jacket and Pants

We got a request for some Hi-Res Shots of the Cayenne Pro in the lighter color combo this morning. We happily obliged. (evil laugh)

Always a blast to drag a member of the team away from their desk, dress them up in a ridiculous bomproof suit and then make them pose for pictures. Marcus is a good sport. He's also our resident Sport Bike Guru, so the Adventure-ness of the Cayenne Pro Jacket was 100% lost on him. He did get a nice little sweat going under the lights. :-p

If there is anything anyone would like to see just send us a message cs[at]revzilla.com and we can work it into the rotation.

Happy hunting!

Relaunched: RevZilla.com 2.0

As many folks have noticed and inquired about, about 10 days ago we relaunched RevZilla.com featuring an updated design and next generation functionality.

The goal of the new site was ease of use and we did this in many ways. At a high level we rearchitected departments, product browsing and the natural segmentation of riders (Street, ADV / Sport Touring & Motocross / ATV)

You will notice updated brand pages and departments including Icon, REV'IT!, Motorcycle Helmets & Womens Motorcycle Gear as well as others as we continue to build things out.

To be honest we are very excited about the women's sections.

You can also go to any brand and department (see REV'IT!) page and see the most popular sellers as well as the most recent product reviews.

There are other new features to be rolled out shortly - please stay tuned. You can shoot any and all feedback about the new site to CS@revzilla.com

There are a ton of 2009 motorcycle products that we are excited about at RevZilla.com. Right now the 2009 REV'IT gear is some of the best we have seen.

We had the chance to get our hands on some prototype gear recently and snap some hi-res pics. We have been updating our Flickr account with the new shots and the bulk of them should be up by weeks end. Overall the few application level holes that REV'IT had before 2009 were addressed in the last year and the new products make REV'IT's offering damn near complete in our eyes. Here are some early highlights from what we have seen:

REV'IT Navigator Jacket 4-season Sport Touring Jacket

REV'IT Dragon Jacket 4-season ADV / Sport Touring / Dual Sport

Rev'it Gear Inspires Theft

See the Rev'it Cayenne Pro Jacket on RevZilla.com

So two weeks ago we ordered about 10k worth of Rev'it gear for our 4th & Fitzwater Store in Philly. We love the gear and wanted to make sure we had a good mix of their product line on the floor. It really is some of the nicest stuff we've seen....

...It actually may be a little too nice....

The Rev'it Cayenne Pro Jacket was too much to handle for one patron, who, upon me turning my back, proceeded to grab a jacket and make a run for it. Our first shoplifter. What a coveted title.

Fortunately I still have some speed left in these old legs and was able to catch up and slide-tackle the perp' before turning him over to the local authorities. Drexel Intramural Sports represent.

We managed to get a shot of him in action on our in-store security camera. A face only a mother could love.

Regardless - we have a ton of Rev'it in store and the whole 2008 collection will be on RevZilla.com/brands/revit shortly.

Definitely worth a gander for the serious adventure/sport touring rider.

We learned two things this week #1 That the Rev'it quality lives up to its own hype #2 We need a pair of nunchuks or pellet gun in the store to eliminate shoplifters.

Nuggets of Excitement.... Icon & Alpinestars

Now I don't know how many folks would ever refer to Icon and Alpinestars as Nuggets of Excitement - but brace yourself - I just did. We are all fired up about both lines of '08 gear.

Revzilla Motorsports is proud to announce that we now carry the Icon and Alpinestars gear in our Philadelphia showroom and they are both coming soon to RevZilla.com

Its no secret. This stuff is the real McCoy, on all functional, durability and style levels.

We are excited to offer it. We hope that you are excited to check it out.

Indy in 2008: You think its a game son?

Everyone knows that every year around mid February, Indianapolis, if only for a weekend, transforms into the proverbial Mecca of the powersports universe.

This year I returned to pay homage. It was a berzerker attack to say the least. 3 days of bikes, bolt-ons and booth babes coupled with 3 nights of Indy-bar 4am slide shows and hotel staff harassment. I actually had fun. Shocking right?

I had not been out to the Indy show in years, and based on all of the hype I have heard relating to the last 3 or 4 years, I was not sure what to expect.

Needless to say I was blown away. This was definitely not a game, son. I saw as many new brands and gadgets as I saw pairs of boots with the fur.

Most of the weekend I rolled with the Christini AWD crew which got me a more personal and behind the scenes tour of the show and the Indy nightlife.

I could go into some of the finer technical points, but why write another novel when our good friend Rick at WebBikeWorld.com has already covered that base in detail.

Instead I am going to post what I thought were the most entertaining points of the weekend. To all those incriminated by these pictures: I kind of feel bad, but not really. It was all good semi-clean fun.

This is Ron. He is looking douchetastic in this pic on purpose. He is with a terribly bleethed out booth girl from one of the many Stunt Bike part companies. I couldn't tell you what the name of one of these company's was, but we did oggle the heck out of their women.

This is Ash. He's our parts intern. I don't know why hes so excited about that pic. We made him go on "time out" and sit on that chair for the better part of an hour for talking back. It worked. He didn't sass us again all weekend.

This is Paul Clipper. He is the owner and editor of Trail Rider Magazine and a legend in the industry. He generously invited us to his private party where we, after a few margaritas, unapologetically lowered the bar for everyone. We then convinced him to berserker attack a fake cactus. Hilarity ensued.

One of the many far east knock-off brands we saw, I referred to this line of bikes as the lost in translation's. I would love to now what eastern saying was literally translated to end up with the Hi-Bird brand. These guys just edged out the boys over at Yamasaki for the title of worst band name.

Spotted: Boots with the furrrr. Lowering the bar, yet again, at the Trail Rider party.

I was going to wrap up with the picture of the bruise on my ass from not making my jump over the counter of the Sheraton at 4am, but I will spare you. I leave you with the aftermath of the failed jump: 4:05am - My pose-off with Anna, the wake-up call attendant which we harassed upon coming home every night. We think she appreciated it, but who really knows but her.

I know this blog post is the equivalent of a Kenny Maine piece on SportsCenter - but they all can't be about Icon and "stoppies"... even we would get bored. We hope you enjoyed our highlight reel.

Coming Soon to RevZilla.com...

We launched last November carrying products from Tucker Rocky Distribution and have been ecstatic with the response we have received. However, our end goal has always been to carry the most expansive selection online.

We at RevZilla have been hard at work. Since December we have become official dealers with Fox Racing, Metal Mulisha, Sullivans, Helmet House, Western Powersports, and Parts Unlimited

What does that mean for our customers? We will soon be reaching our goal and you will soon see our selection rapidly growing as we will now begin to feature products from some of the top brands including: Alpinestars, Thor, Shoei, Fox, Icon, Joe Rocket, HJC, Fly Racing, Moose and many more.

Customers have overwhelmingly had a great experience shopping with us, and we will soon be proud to say we have the selection to match.

Christini AWD Finishes 2nd at Red Bull’s 2007 Last Man Standing Competition!

Geoff Aaron and Revzilla Co-Founder, Steve Christini
Bulcher, Texas - December 8, 2007
Each year top riders travel from around the world to compete in the Red Bull Last Man Standing Competition. This demanding competition combines the best terrain from every off-road racing genre. This year, the course was tougher than ever and included an extremely difficult 80 mile test of motorcycle and man.

This was the year that the Christini All Wheel Drive motorcycles came to show that AWD is not only the hottest technology in the sport, but to prove that it makes the winning difference! All the bikes entered in the event performed flawlessly and proved to any skeptics that All Wheel Drive is an incredible advantage to any rider and can stand up to (and surpass) factory bikes under the toughest of riding conditions!
The Last Man Standing competition just about lived up to its name this year, with only two riders completing the event out of a hundred that entered! Among the two was former National Trials Champion Geoff Aaron, riding a Christini AWD KTM 300 XCW! The rest of the Christini team faired well too with Wally Palmer, Cole Kirkpatrick, and Ryan Dudek all holding in the top 25 for the entire race. Of course, we can't forget our Adam Booth, editor of Dirt Bike, for capturing some incredible footage on our helmet cam. Stop back here soon to see some of the Last Man Standing course from the riders point of view.....

The Team: Ryan Dudek, Adam Booth, Wally Palmer, Cole Kirkpatrick and Geoff Aaron,
