REVIT Horizon Jacket & Pants Review

Consider the REVIT Horizon Jacket and REVIT Horizon Pants to be a complement in the REV'IT! lineup to the all-season all-weather REV'IT! Sand combo. Both the Horizon jacket and pants have the waterproof breathable membrane built into the shell so you're covered in all weather conditions. With the removable thermal liners, you're also covered deep into the temperature range. There is also the brand new Aquadefense system from REV'IT!, which I will get to after the video, that allows a ton of airflow to enter this jacket in hot weather conditions, but completely seals out water when it is raining out. Truly revolutionary technology.

Check out our REVIT Horizon Jacket Review:

REVIT Horizon HV Jacket
The shell of the Horizon jacket is composed of 750D and 500D PWRShell and PWRShell stretch fabrics, providing a high degree of abrasion resistance, but also allowing for movement and flexibility in active riding scenarios. Upgraded Knox CE Rated Flexiform armor can be found in the shoulders and elbows, while the foam backpad is upgradeable to a Knox Advance X CE back protector. What really makes this jacket special though, is the extensive ventilation system which borrows heavily from the Sand but also incorporates the aforementioned Aquadefense system. Essentially, these airvent panels are sealed with an external gasket when closed, but when open, they flow air to a 3D mesh panel that backs them. Innovative and effective, REV'IT again raises the bar with this technology. These intakes feed a rear exhaust panel for exceptional hot weather ventilation.

Beyond this, as with most REVIT! gear, adjustment possibilities are extensive. There are straps at the waist and upper arms with snap adjusters at the forearms and velcro at the wrist. The multi-position neck closure system allows you to set and forget, while the collar loop on the opposite side allows you to hook it down and prevent flapping if you want to ride with the collar open. Reflective paneling is strategically added throughout, and the jacket features inner pockets, handwarmer pockets, stash pockets and a rabbit pouch. Pair this jacket up with the REVIT! Horizon Pants, and you can seriously get through the harshest of both hot and cold weather conditions.

Next is our REVIT Horizon Pants Review:

The REVIT Horizon pants are the obviously ideal pairing for the Horizon jacket. They are constructed from a mix of materials; PWRShell 750D and 500D and PWRWax 500D with the Hydratex waterproof breathable membrane built into the shell. There is a fully removable thermal liner for the colder times of the year, CE rated knox flexiform armor in the knees, and perforated foam protectors at the hips. As with all REV'IT! products, adjustment possibilities run rampant with the knee armor being fully adjustable, adjusters at the waist and ankles. There are short and long connection zippers to pair this with your favorite REV'IT! jacket and the pass-through pockets also act as vents in the warm weather. Strategic reflective paneling and stretch zones round out the features on the Horizon pants.

For the serious touring enthusiast and the commuter, this combo will get you through all seasons and weather conditions. This new setup complements the rest of the REV'IT! lineup well, filling a gap for their riding community. To see everything in this release, visit our REVIT Spring 2012 Gear page.

REV'IT! Orion GTX Ladies Gloves & Zoom H2O Gloves

Brand new for Fall 2011, there are two new REV'IT gloves designed specifically for female riders for use in multiple seasons and all weather conditions. The REV'IT! Orion GTX Ladies Gloves are modeled after the men's version of the same name but they are modified to accommodate a woman's hand. The REV'IT! Zoom H2O Ladies Gloves are a more affordable, albeit slightly less technical option that will get you through all conditions. If you're looking for textile, the Orion will be the choice for you. If you want the slick style of a leather cold weather glove, look to the Zoom H2O for all your needs.

While we've not detailed these in video form yet, we'll break down the features of each glove.

The Orion gloves feature an extremely technical shell, with 1000D Cordura ripstop, PWRShell and PWRWax 500D, and goatskin at the palm comprising the materials used. What sets this glove apart is the Gore-Tex waterproof breathable membrane that will completely protect you from precipitation while allowing perspiration to escape. The Thermolite insulated liner will keep you warm while the EVA foam provides protection from impacted at the knuckle, thumb and palm. There are also injected PU protectors at the fingers for protection. Small details like the grip patches, visor wiper, stretch paneling and Teflon coating are what we continue to see from REV'IT! that sets them apart.

The REV'IT! Zoom H2O Ladies Gloves are a goatskin and cowhide construction for a slim and sleek look that couldn't be more feminine. The Zooms feature a Hydratex waterproof breathable membrane that will keep all the water out while letting your hand to breathe. For armor, there is a leather-coated hard part main knuckle, with EVA foam at the fingers, cuff and the palm. Strategic grip panels can be found on the palm, and the Fiberfil (highly insulating) liner will keep you warm and cozy in the cold weather. The wrist adjuster strap and main velcro cuff closure allow you to cinch the glove down and ensure that wind and water won't creep in. A solid choice for the sport tourer, no doubt.

Check out our review of the men's version of the REV'IT Orion GTX. The women's version shares exactly the same features with a different cut.

REV'IT! Legacy GTX Ladies Jacket Review

After plenty of clamoring, female riders are getting more of their due this Fall from REV'IT. With the release of the REV'IT! Legacy GTX Ladies Jacket, the long-distance tourer and everyday commuter now has an all-season all-weather option that will perform excellently hot-to-cold. Packed with a feature set that rivals the best from any other manufacturer on the market, the brand new REV'IT! Ladies Legacy complements the ADV-focused Ventura combo as seriously technical pieces that are designed and cut exclusively for a woman's curves and contours.

Check out our REV'IT! Legacy GTX Ladies Jacket Review:

The REV'IT! Legacy GTX Ladies is built from a chassis of PWRShell 750D and 500D, with 1000D ripstop Cordura in impact areas. All of these fabrics are treated with a Teflon DWR coating which assists in beading up water. Of course, your true waterproof breathability comes from the bonded Gore-Tex membrane that will keep all precipitation out but allow perspiration to escape through, keeping you cool (or warm) and dry on the most torrential of rides. There is also a removable quilted thermal liner that is full sleeved and can be taken out when it's warmer. There are intake vents at the chest and under arms that feed the rear exhaust vents for a solid degree of airflow in hotter riding scenarios.

For protection, there is ladies-specific CE rated Prolife armor at the shoulders and elbows. The EVA foam backpad can be upgraded to the Knox TP2 CE Back Protector or the molecular-level SAS-TEC Back Protector to amp up your safety. There are ample adjustment possibilities, with a multi-position collar, and cinches at the waist, upper arms, under arms, cuffs and hips. Some further niceties of the Legacy include waterproof cargo stash pockets, hand warmer pockets, inner pockets, a hook-and-loop lockdown collar system and a connection zipper to attach this jacket to the REV'IT! Legacy GTX Ladies Pants. Overall, the long-distance tourer and everyday commuter will be very pleased with the feature set offered here.

REV'IT! Gear: Fall 2011 Overview

REV'IT! is dropping some bombs this Fall with a few loudly-requested multi-season commuting/touring products alongside some day-saving rain gear. They've also completely revamped their base layer lineup, utilizing brand new mapping technologies that will intelligently respond to your body's wicking needs both in cold weather and warm weather riding with temperature-specific pieces. Additionally, there are two new gloves designed exclusively for all the serious female riders who want to push it through all seasons and weather conditions. Here, we'll provide a quick glimpse at each of the products, but stay tuned for our individual blogs that will feature video reviews of all the new gear.

The heavy hitter of this year's lineup is the REV'IT! Legacy GTX Hi-Viz Jacket in addition to the women's specific REV'IT! Legacy GTX Ladies Jacket and REV'IT! Legacy GTX Ladies Pants. Since this jacket and pant combo, released for the men in last year's Fall collection from REV'IT!, is focused on touring and commuting, it is only logical that there would be a hi-viz version of it. Also, the ladies have been clamoring for their own version of this multi-season all-weather Gore-Tex monster and REV'IT! has delivered on both fronts. Touting all of the same features as last year's version, the hi-viz and women-specific versions are sure to continue the legacy of the Legacy's immense popularity.

REV'IT! has also revamped all of their rain gear for Fall 2011, moving away from PVC and ensuring that all of their gear is now REACH certified. REACH is a European safety standard that bans the use of over 30,000 harmful chemicals that damage the environment and threaten the safety of the workers. The REV'IT! Pacific H2O Rain Suit offers riders a full one-piece suit that is available in a hi-viz colorway. The REV'IT! Nitric H2O Rain Jacket is the big brother to the less-technical REV'IT! Cyclone H2O Rain Jacket and both pair up nicely with the REV'IT! Acid H2O Rain Pants. Each of these jackets is available in a hi-viz colorway for max visibility. Also, all the new rain gear is extraordinarily lightweight, rolling and stuffing into their included sacks in a matter of seconds.

Also completely redesigned with the REV'IT! lineup is their base layer collection. With a summer-specific and winter-specific setup each for the men and ladies, these base layers are using a 3D round knit technology that eliminates uncomfortable seams and allows for strategic mapping with different weaves in different zones. For instance, at the shoulders and elbows where armor will sit, there are spaced-fabric areas that allow breathability in areas that will sweat more. The armpits, chest and back all feature strategically-located weaves that will help wick moisture away and keep you cool (or warm) and dry. For the winter, the men's REV'IT! Glacier LS Shirt and Pants; REV'IT! Trinity LS Shirt and Pants for women. For summer, check out the REV'IT! Oxygen Shirt and Pants and the REV'IT! Violet Shirt and Pants.

There are also two new gloves for the ladies for Fall 2011, which are female-specific versions of popular REV'IT! men's gloves. The brand new REV'IT! Orion GTX Ladies' Gloves are a Gore-Tex winter-specific version of the men's gloves that bear the same name from last season. Gore-Tex waterproof breathability with highly technical materials in the shell and a Thermolite liner provide warmth and protection from the elements. The REV'IT! Zoom H2O Ladies' Gloves are built for the female touring rider looking to stay warm and waterproof and not pay an arm and a leg to do so. With a leather exterior and a hard shell knuckle, you're ensured both impact and abrasion protection, and the Fiberfil interior keeps you good and warm.

Again, stay tuned for upcoming posts with detailed video breakdowns of each of these new products.

Warm Weather Sport Textile Motorcycle Gear Guide 2011

In today's edition of our 2011 Warm Weather Motorcycle Gear Guides, we're focusing on the sport segment of riders. We're breaking down what we see as the best of what's available for summer sport riding. All of the gear featured in our Warm Weather Sport Textile Gear Guide will flow a ton of air, be protective, but ultimately the most important factor in these selections is the aggressive style that will match up well with your bike and riding style. We've got a couple picks for the street and stunt rider, some Euro selections for the Ducati and Speed Triple, and one combo that is universally-styled to go with any sport or naked bike.
This is the best of what we see for 2011 summer sport riding.

Check out our Warm Weather Sport Textile Motorcycle Gear Guide:

Our first pick in sport textiles is the brand new 2011 REV'IT! Tarmac Air Jacket paired up with the mainstay REV'IT! Rotor Pants. REV'IT! essentially took their extremely popular REV'IT! Air Jacket, utilized the style of the brand new Tarmac Leather Jacket, and made a wicked hot weather sport riding jacket. Extremely ergonomic in its cut, with CE rated armor in the shoulders and elbows and 600D fabric in impact areas, the Tarmac Air has huge PWRShell mesh panels that are abrasion-resistant and will flow a ton of air. The pants feature the same mesh construction with 500D & 1200D PWRShell textile to protect from abrasion. This combo will work great on a naked bike, a sportbike or even for an aggressive sport touring rider.

Next up in our sport textile picks is the Icon Hooligan 2 Mesh Jacket. Released in Fall 2010, the Hooligan 2 is now available in new graphics and a brand new Icon Hooligan 2 Mil-Spec Mesh Jacket. Absolutely inspired by the aggressive street and stunt riding crowd, the Hooligan 2 is a durable fighter mesh chassis for abrasion resistance and airflow and hot weather performance, but also features a removable full-sleeved quilted thermal liner for the cooler months. With CE rated armor in the shoulders and elbows and an upgradeable dual density back pad in addition to ballistic nylon in abrasion areas, you'll be protected and comfortable. Pair this up with the Icon Hooligan 2 Mesh Overpants for a full summer sport outfit.

The Alpinestars T-Stunt Air Flo Jacket and Alpinestars AST-1 Pants feature a universal style, that will match up well with anything from a Gixxer to a Monster to a VFR and perform extremely well in the hot weather. A 600D polyester construction with abrasion resistant mesh panels throughout, both jacket and pants will keep you cool in the hottest of hot weather. There are compartments in the chest and back for upgraded CE rated protection. One thing to note, though, is that the pants only come stock with foam padding on the knees. We recommend an upgrade to CE rated knee protection. The jacket's seasonality can also be extended thanks to the removable waterproof breathable liner.

Next up is the truly Euro-styled Dainese Shotgun Jacket and Dainese Drake Air Pants, both of which have been standouts in the RevZilla lineup for quite some time now. Available in a multitude of colors, there is a style of Shotgun to match just about any bike. Beyond the protective and airflow elements via 3D mesh, boomerang mesh, Mugello fabric and CE rated armor, what stands out in the Shotgun is the extreme attention paid to ergonomics and comfort. The Drake Airs are some of the bestselling textile pants we've ever carried and will continue to be thanks to their comfort, airflow, protection, and of course, that great Italian style.

Watch our detailed review of the Dainese Shotgun Jacket:

Last up in our mix for 2011 sport textile summer gear is the Icon Overlord Textile Jacket and Icon Overlord Textile Overpants. Loose fitting, comfortable, and designed exclusively for the aggressive street and stunt rider, the Overlord combo puts a big emphasis on that classic Icon style. Available in multiple colors, both jacket and pants are designed with the Icon attack fit for the most aggressive riding scenarios. CE rated armor is found in the shoulders, elbows, and knees and the backpad can be upgraded to the Stryker CE back protector. Extend the seasonality of this jacket thanks to the removable thermal vest liner.

That does it for our best of Sport Textile for Summer 2011. Don't miss all of our Summer Gear Guides as they are released! Also, you can browse our full selection of Summer Motorcycle Gear at RevZilla.com.

REV'IT! Tarmac Gloves Review

Coming in as the replacement to the REV'IT! GT Corse Gloves and thereby becoming second in command in the REV'IT! line of race gloves, the brand new for Spring 2011 REV'IT! Tarmac Gloves offer big upgrades in protection and performance over their predecessors. Built for the most aggressive of track riding and racing conditions, the Tarmac Gloves can be paired up with the REV'IT! Tarmac Race Suit for one of the fastest (and slickest-looking) outfits on the race track.

Check out our REV'IT! Tarmac Gloves Review:

The big upgrade that the Tarmacs tout over the GT Corse is the addition of a dual compound slider to the outside of the palm. This is a feature of the pro-level REV'IT! Jerez Gloves and a much needed addition here. The dual comp slider is an aluminum plate that is set in a honeycomb packing and serves two purposes: the aluminum plate allows for abrasion resistance and assists in a slide, while the honeycomb absorbs all energy and offers excellent impact resistance. Beyond that, you're looking at a premium cowhide and goatskin construction with a tri-fleece liner. The backhand has a dual comp protector (another upgrade over the GT Corse), which is the aluminum knuckle protection set in a honeycomb baseplate that protects the
knuckles and back of the hand. The fingers are protected by TPU hard shell armor while the pinky has a TPU hard shell protector along the outside to work in conjunction with the dual comp slider to protect the outside of the hand. This is all double leather reinforced for abrasion resistance. There is also elasticated stretch at the fingers and backhand to allow for motion and keep the armor moving with the hand. Moving to the palm, you have double layer leather for abrasion resistance with foam padding at the heel of the hand for vibration dampening. A Schoeller Keprotec panel that extends from the top of the palm through the inner thumb provides wear resistance in the high-use control areas. The elasticated wrist has a velcro adjuster for the
snuggest and safest fit, and this adjuster is protected by a leather flap. The REV'IT! Tarmac Gloves have a double cuff closure system, the safest way for a race glove to close. PWR Gütermann yarn is used in every seam, an extremely high tensile strength thread that prevents any tearing. Finally, strategic perforation and punctuation keeps the air flowing and your hands cool and dry on the track.

Trumped only by the Jerez in the REV'IT! line of race gloves, the Tarmac should prove to be a big hit this season as folks pair it up with the brand new Tarmac Suit and the REV'IT! Tarmac Leather Jacket.

REV'IT! Everest GTX Jacket & REV'IT! Everest GTX Pants Review

Consider this just something to whet the appetite. Due for tentative arrival in Spring 2011, the REV'IT! Everest GTX Jacket and REV'IT! Everest GTX Pants already have throngs of Adventure riders psyched for what's to come. Made in cooperation with Gore-Tex, the Everest outfit is the most technically advanced adventure touring product that REV'IT! has made to date, essentially indestructible and immune to the worst malice that Mother Nature can exact on a motorcyclist. We had the chance to get a super early sneak peek at this gear back in August but held off on a review, knowing that there'd be some changes before production. But we got our hands on the finalized product and gave it the RevZillaTV treatment. The REV'IT! Everest GTX outfit is everything it is touted to be.

Check out our REV'IT! Everest GTX Jacket and Pants Video Review:

The REV'IT! Everest GTX is arguably the most technically advanced jacket and pants they've ever released. The Everest uses GORE-TEX Pro Shell 3-Layer technology in its construction, which receives the highest waterproof breathable rating of any Gore engineering. The waterproofing is guaranteed for life and if any of this garment ever leaks, Gore-Tex will replace or repair it at no cost to you. The Pro Shell 3-Layer membrane utilizes heavy duty DuPont Cordura and Stretch Cordura in addition to Armacor which is a Cordura/Kevlar weave that is typically seen only in military application. Armacor is lightweight, soft to the touch, and incredibly abrasion resistant. It features a ripstop weave which prevents any puncture from tearing further and can be found in all impact areas of this garment.

So how do you keep a garment completely waterproof but also provide ventilation for hot weather riding? That's been a struggle with all-weather motorcycle gear for a long time. Until now. The Everest utilizes the brand new Gore-Tex LockOut zippers for intake ventilation at the chest and at the upper legs.  The LockOut zippers essentially work like the heaviest duty zip-lock bag you could imagine. Unlike traditional zippers with teeth, the LockOut zips are completely waterproof, utilizing a dual channel rubberized system to close. Easy open and easy close with 100% waterproofing in addition to being self-healing, which is to say that if they ever come apart, they will right themselves back on track. Waterproofing problem solved. Every other zipper on the garment is 100% YKK and all the snaps are spring-loaded.

The outer shell is treated with a TFL Cool treatment for heat reduction. TFL Cool essentially blocks the garment from heat absorption by 30% which could be up to 75º F of heat reduction. Both the jacket and pants use the REV'IT! Exkin Air liner which is plush and comfortable, and provides 400% the insulation of DuPont Thermolite at 1/2 the weight and 1/2 the thickness. The Exkin is lined in high-sweat areas with moisture-wicking fleece to keep you dry and comfortable. When it's hot out, pull out the liners, open up the Lockout intake vents and the exhaust panels, and you'll be flowing plenty of air to keep you comfortable. There is also a CoolMax removable thermal collar that is antibacterial and moisture-wicking and can be taken off for added hot weather functionality.

Moving into the armor of the Everest. There is SaS-Tec molecular-level armor in the shoulders, elbows and knees with soft padding in the hips and back. Both the hips and back are shaped to house SaS-Tec protectors. If you don't know about SaS-Tec, it is extremely flexible and comfortable within the garment, molding to your body when body heat contacts it. However, upon impact, it becomes absolutely rigid and disperses the energy of impact across the surface area of the armor piece. Other companies are making molecular-level armor in this style, but we think SaS-Tec does it the best. The US Military seems to think the same thing, since it is this armor that is used in the soles of the soldiers who work on bomb diffusing teams in the Middle East. It's some serious armor.

The jacket and pants can be connected via the full length connection zipper for a complete suit. REV'IT! uses their GTX laminated reflection panels in this outfit, in all the important areas. There are multiple regions of adjustability, including the cuffs, waist, upper arms, under arms, hips, and ankles. The Everest has stretch material in the elbows, at the small of the back, and in the knees for an ergonomic and comfortable fit over long-distance touring rides. There are waterproof stash pockets to store important cargo, handwarmer pockets, and inner pockets. Finally, the collar is five-way adjustable and features a hook-and-loop lockdown system for when you want to ride with the collar open in warm weather.

There is much more to be said about this garment, but let me put it simply: this is arguably the most rugged and bombproof piece of gear we've ever seen at RevZilla. It will suit the seriously demanding Adventure Touring rider's needs and exceed expectations across the board. We are thrilled about its release this Spring and think it will be extremely popular in the most hardcore ADV touring crowd.

Cold Weather ADV Motorcycle Gear Guide

It's that time of year again. Time to put away the lightweight summer mesh jackets and bust out the brawnier winter motorcycle gear. Park the sportbike in the garage until spring and roll out the GS (or KTM or V-Strom of course). No more outdoor picnics in the sunshine. Just raw, bleak, absolutely bone-chilling weather. There will be freezing rain, sleet, blizzards. All of this makes it seem like the perfect time to ride, right? If you have the right gear for the weather, then there's no doubt about it.

That said, we're rolling out a series of HD videos we're calling our 2010 Cold Weather Motorcycle Gear Guides. Our hope is that these guides will serve as a means to navigate the vast array of cold weather motorcycle gear, effectively making the buying process that much easier. We've broken it down into four categories: Everyday Riding, Sport Riding, Sport Touring, and ADV Touring.

This first video focuses on our picks for Cold Weather ADV Touring Motorcycle Gear. We cover six different outfits from five brands to give a glance at the many different options available. Check out the full video below:

The first outfit we featured is REV'IT!'s new flagship all-season all-weather outfit, born from their new marriage with GORE-TEX. The REV'IT! Defender GTX Jacket & REV'IT! Defender GTX Pants will perform tremendously under any conditions that Mother Nature throws. We've done a two full 10-minute videos on the Defender, one in which we discuss application, features, and fit; in the other we break down the armor and liner system. You can check them out by visiting our REV'IT! Defender GTX Jacket & Pants.

Next up is the new for Fall 2010 Alpinestars Durban Gore-Tex Jacket & Alpinestars Durban Gore-Tex Pants. With a strong history of producing apparel for the race track and roots in motocross gear, it only seemed logical that Alpinestars would eventually enter the ADV Touring realm with strong offerings. Building on the strong foundation of the Alpinestars Frontier Gore-Tex Jacket, they spent another year worth of R&D and came out swinging with the Durban suit. The Alpinestars Durban Suit plays really well in the arena of ADV Touring gear and offers a ton of four-season versatility. We'll be rolling out our full 15-minute review of this suit in the very near future.

Third in line is the Firstgear TPG Rainier Jacket & Firstgear TPG Escape Pants. We already knew that Firstgear had hit an ADV Touring home run last fall when they released the TPG Rainier, a jacket that immediately joined the upper-echelon of all-season all-weather gear. But the R&D in the TPG pants weren't quite there yet. Give them another year of hard work, and they roll out the much new and improved TPG Escape pants. The addition of molecular-level d3o armor, the completely redesigned fit & articulation and a generally more well-thought out product results in a pair of winter motorcycle pants that can flex its muscles up against the best of the best on the market.

The Olympia X-Moto Jacket and Olympia X-Moto Pants also get a thumbs-up from us. Out of all the cold weather ADV motorcycle gear we carry, this outfit is likely to be the most versatile in terms of multi-season wearability. Utilizing Olympia's Mega Vent Panel system, this suit will work very well with the integrated hydration pack in the summer as well as performing exceptionally in the brutal, bitter cold of winter. The waterproof breathable liner will keep you dry, the Thermolite lining will keep you warm, and the 2000D Cordura reinforcements will keep you protected. This is a great middle-of-the-road option that offers a ton of bang for the buck.

Next, we featured the Klim Adventure Rally Jacket & Klim Adventure Rally Pants for the rider who is going to do the majority of riding off-road. Think something along the lines of a 90% off-road, 10% on-road split. Inspired by the Dakar Rally, Klim created this suit to be the most bomb-proof outershell on the market today. Constructed exclusively with the most rugged GORE-TEX materials, the Klim Adventure Rally Suit is waterproof, breathable and ultimately indestructible. The only caveat with this outfit is the lack of thermal liner. Basically, what you choose to do for in terms of insulation is your call with this suit, but the exterior is heavy-duty to the point where we couldn't leave it out.

Finally, perhaps the best-selling ADV touring outfit over the last three years at RevZilla.com, the REV'IT! Cayenne Pro Jacket & REV'IT! Cayenne Pro Pants. Prior to the previously-detailed REV'IT! Defender GTX Jacket & Pants, this was the absolute mountaintop for REV'IT's ADV gear. And for good reason. It offers true four-season flexibility, with removable liner systems, Hydratex waterproof breathability, and futuristic materials like SuperFabric. The implementation of the Exkin liner, 2x warmer & 1/2 the weight of Thermolite, means you'll be nice and toasty in the frosty weather. This is without question an upper-echelon beast of an ADV touring outfit.
There are two 10-minute video reviews detailing this outfit that you can see by visiting our REV'IT! Cayenne Pro Review page.

That does it for our first Cold Weather Motorcycle Gear Guide. Stay tuned for all four installments.

REV'IT! Jerez Race-Level Glove Review

Turning to REV'IT! is always a good decision when you're on the hunt for track gear. MotoGP rider Randy De Puniet knows. So do MotoGP's Alvaro Bautista and BMW's Nate Kern. They are all wearing REV'IT! Jerez Gloves, the pro-level gauntlet offering from the Dutch manufacturer for this season.

The REV'IT Jerez Gloves utilize a combination of high-quality materials such as Superfabric (a ceramic material 14x more abrasion-resistant than Kevlar) and the always supple and tactile kangaroo and goat leathers. For protection, they utilize REVIT's proprietary dual-comp slider that's used in the REV'IT! Victory race suit. It is a honeycomb hard-part that's topped with an aluminum slider; it's utilized across the knuckles and at the side of the wrist for serious impact protection. TPU hard parts across the finger knuckles for protection, and breathable 3D mesh lining to wick moisture away from your hand and maintain a comfortable microclimate within the glove. Finally, the stitching. Every racer and trackday rider knows that the seams are what make and break motorcycle gear in the event of a crash. REVIT! Jerez gloves utilize external Kevlar safety stitching. After his crash, Nate Kern said that the seems were what most kept him from severe injury. He promptly called REVIT and asked them for another suit and gloves. That's a serious cosign.

Check out the REVIT Jerez Gloves to match up with the rest of your gear for your next race. A great feature set at a reasonable price point. Also, check out all of the motorcycle race gloves we carry at RevZilla.

REV'IT! Victory Race Suit Video Review

Worn by the likes of Randy De Puniet & Alvaro Bautista in MotoGP, Simone Corsi in Moto2, and by RevZilla-sponsored BMW S1000RR Ambassador Nate Kern, the REV'IT! Victory Racing Suit is the mountaintop of REV'IT! suits. Loaded with a feature set that dazzles at a reasonable price point for a pro-level suit, the REV'IT Victory is a must-have for the serious trackday rider.

As you might already know by now, we had a chance to sit down with N8! and discuss a variety of race-related topics with him, one of which was the REVIT! Victory Suit. After crashing in the suit a few months back doing 120mph and being knocked unconscious, to say that Nate was impressed by the way the suit held up would be a massive understatement. From the external Aluminum/Honeycomb hard parts all the way down to the safety stitching and taped seams, the REVIT Victory Race Suit saved Kern from major injuries he could have suffered. Instead, a few weeks of recovery from the impact and Nate is back on the racetrack again! If that doesn't speak volumes about the quality of a product, I don't know what does. You can check out Nate's glowing endorsement of the suit by clicking here.

Quick feature breakdown: X-Lite Top-Grain 1.2-1.4mm Cowhide, ProLife CE Rated Armor, Dual-Comp Aluminum/Honeycomb Sliders, Dual-Compound Knee Sliders, Safety Stitching, Plumbed VCS Airflow Speed Hump with 3D Mesh AeroCool Liner, Safety Stitching.. and much more.

Check out the video above for all the details and a look at the suit that Nate Kern crashed in.

We like this suit. We think you will too.

REV'IT! Cayenne Pro Jacket & Pants Video Review in HD

Many moons ago, a light bulb illuminated in the RevZilla brain trust. Our customers are buying gear online, with only text and images as a guideline; we thought, why not do detailed video product reviews as another helpful tool for our loyal RevZillains?

A few days later, RevZillaTV was born. And the REV'IT! Cayenne Pro Jacket & Pants was the very first product we featured eight long months ago. The audio was terrible, the resolution was brutal, and the guy on camera was freestyling it handheld-style. It was bad. But it was a big the first step for us.

Seeing as this outfit is the most bomb-proof, weatherproof, all-season monster of ADV Touring, we felt the onus of giving it due justice with our new and wildly-improved production quality.

With no further adieu, I present the REV'IT! Cayenne Pro Jacket & Pants RevZilla video review, parts I & II, in glorious HD.

Part I: The Detailed Review

Part II: Armor & Liner Breakdown

The videos speak for themselves. Some highlights from customer reviews for this REV'IT! beast at RevZilla: "excellent" "rugged" "liner is incredible" "a truly remarkable jacket" "very well designed" "outstanding!" "an amazing jacket."

If you don't want to take my word for it, I understand. Have a look at the two in-depth review videos for application, features, fit and an in-depth liner and armor breakdown. I promise you will be nothing short of astounded.

REV'IT Cayenne Pro Jacket and Pants

We got a request for some Hi-Res Shots of the Cayenne Pro in the lighter color combo this morning. We happily obliged. (evil laugh)

Always a blast to drag a member of the team away from their desk, dress them up in a ridiculous bomproof suit and then make them pose for pictures. Marcus is a good sport. He's also our resident Sport Bike Guru, so the Adventure-ness of the Cayenne Pro Jacket was 100% lost on him. He did get a nice little sweat going under the lights. :-p

If there is anything anyone would like to see just send us a message cs[at]revzilla.com and we can work it into the rotation.

Happy hunting!

REV'IT 2009 Gear First Look - Turbine Pants, Navigator and Dragon Jackets

There are a ton of 2009 motorcycle products that we are excited about at RevZilla.com. Right now the 2009 REV'IT gear is some of the best we have seen.

We had the chance to get our hands on some prototype gear recently and snap some hi-res pics. We have been updating our Flickr account with the new shots and the bulk of them should be up by weeks end. Overall the few application level holes that REV'IT had before 2009 were addressed in the last year and the new products make REV'IT's offering damn near complete in our eyes. See all of our REV'IT 2009 Gear on Flickr as we post it.

Here are some early highlights from what we have seen:

REV'IT Navigator Jacket 4-season Sport Touring Jacket

REV'IT Dragon Jacket 4-season ADV / Sport Touring / Dual Sport
