The Nexx XR1R Carbon helmet is a tri-composite: carbon fiber, Kevlar and fiberglass, making it extremely strong but also lightweight. This Nexx helmet is the second lightest helmet we have in our lineup at 1200-1400 grams. The eye port is large, giving a wide periphery with unimpeded vision. Packaged with the helmet are 7 to 8 pads, the ergo padding system, to custom fit the medium oval shape.
CoolMax liners are removeable and washable. The PC Lexanshield is anti-scratch with four settings and easy locking system. With 2 inlets and 4 outlets, the helmet vents well. The ear reinforcements are double and therefore quiet and allow for the addition of a communication system. The helmet is DOT, ECE/22-05 and NBR-7471:2001 approved.
The Nexx XR1R Diablo Helmet
This Nexx XR1R Diablo helmet's exterior is wrapped in leather. Features are identical to the Nexx Carbon Helmet reviewed above with great peripheral vision and ergo padding system to custom fit the medium oval shape. ECE/22-05 and DOT approved.
The Shark Race-R Pro is replacing the RSR 2, big advances in function, style and technology. Built for Moto GP, for the race tuck positioning, super aerodynamic and lightweight weighing 3.6 oz. It fits more of a rounded oval head shape. Shark Race-R Pro has 6 intakes: 2 position spoiler, brow vents to the shield, 2 chimneys on top, 2 vents in back. Extactors help to flow air and vaccum warm moist air away from your head. There are frontal extractors along the jawline, winglets along the back, a chimney extractor plus the double blade spoiler with extractors.
This is the most advanced shell in the Shark lineup: made with aramid and carbon fibers. As with the Vision-R and Speed-R in the new line of Shark helmets, the Race-R-Pro has a panoramic aperture with heavy duty polycarbonate
face shield with an auto seal system for better soundproofing. It offers many of the other features from this line: double d ring magnetic chin strap, comfort, removable and washable, antibacterial liner, neck roll with neoprene sections for elasticity and water resistance, breath guard, chin curtain and easy fit glasses system.
Built on the shoulders of the technologies used in AGV's pro-level race helmet (the GP Tech) worn by Valentino Rossi and Marco Simoncelli, the AGV T-2 Helmet uses a slightly less exotic shell construction but retains most of the GP Tech's features. The ventilation, aerodynamics and stability are superb, and the Italian quality seen in the rest of AGV Helmets' line can easily be seen in the T-2. Starting with the shell, the T-2 uses AGV's weave of carbon fiber, kevlar and fiberglass. The result is a helmet that is extremely resilient to impacts but also very lightweight. The protective EPS layer is double density for shock protection. The shell comes in three sizes and the EPS comes in four sizes, so you can be assured that whatever size you need won't simply be their stock helmet model with larger or smaller cheek padding. These helmets fit extremely well for the intermediate oval head shape. The IVS (Integrated Ventilation System) is used here, which incorporates large channels into the helmet that are hollowed directly through the EPS for top-notch airflow. The chin and top intakes feed air into this system that can then exit via the four exhausts.
The T-2 Helmet uses the exact same shield and shield-change mechanism as the pro-level GP Tech lid. The Racer-X shield is anti-scratch and anti-fog, featuring tear-off posts which allows the use of tear-offs, a critical feature for any serious trackday rider or racer. The shield also utilizes the XQRS (Extra Quick Release System) which is an extraordinarily simple shield change mechanism that requires no tools and allows shield swaps to be completed in a matter of seconds. The T-2 has a removable chin curtain and breath guard and uses a double d-ring chin strap system. Inside, the Coolmax cheekpads, neck roll and comfort liner are comfortable, moisture-wicking and completely removable and washable.
