Dainese Longbow D-WP Boots Review

The Dainese Longbow D-WP Boots may provide the greatest value-to-dollar ratio of any sport and ADV touring boots in the Dainese lineup. Classic Italian style from Dainese, premium construction materials, high levels of impact and abrasion resistance, and a high degree of comfort all define this premium boot from Dainese. Plus, it just looks awesome.

The Dainese Longbow D WP Boots are constructed from premium full-grain Italian cowhide with strategically placed D-Stone inserts. D-Stone is a highly abrasion resistant fabric, proprietary to Dainese, offering levels of protection comparable to leather but it is highly flexible thanks to the elasticated nylon facing. Sort of a best-of-both-worlds situation with D-Stone. Sandwiched between the shell and the liner is a fully waterproof breathable D-WP membrane that stops all precipitation dead in its tracks before it hits the foot. It also allows your foot to breathe to help prevent any clammy discomfort in long-distance touring scenarios. Everybody knows there is nothing worse than that. The comfort liner works in conjunction with this membrane, wicking sweat and keeping the foot cool and dry.

Safety elements are certainly not lacking on this boot. Thermoformed hard part inserts can be found at the shin, the toe and the heel, while the ankle is protected medially and laterally by hard nylon armor. There is also a rubberized hard shifter guard on both boots. An accordion D-Stone stretch panel at the front of the boot provides excellent range of motion while the adjustable velcro strap at the calf combined with the zip and velcro closure system helps to accommodate a range of calf sizes. The Skywalk rubber sole is one of the industry's finest: high-grip, non-slip, anti-oil and stiff. A key element is the waterproof gaiter that backs the entry zip. Zippers are always a weak point and without this waterproof gaiter, this would be an easy point for water to penetrate.
