The Dainese Supermoto Leather Jacket is a protective, well made, all around cool weather leather. It's made with high grade soft cowhide and a removable thermal liner.  There are two outer pockets and an internal pocket in addition to the pockets for the back and chest protectors. The Dainese Carbon Leather Jacket is a crossover piece that borders on high fashion. Its  vintage inspired piece-dyed full grain leather is of the softest cowhide. Its short collar design, cotton liner and hip length with two outside zippered pockets make it more of a lifestyle piece. Zippers at the arm cuff add to the city look.

Carbon fiber inserts on the shoulders are complemented by innovative technical solutions like the soft new Pro-Shape protectors at the elbows, certified to Standard EN 1621.1/97. Spidi with their latest releases has come out with their Spidi Track Leather Jacket. Spidi is a fairly well known brand amongst riders everywhere and it's no surprise with all the great products they supply. If you are in the market for a Motorcycle Leather Jacket, the Track Leather Jacket definitely deserves a look considering it is Spidi's top end leather jacket.

Unlike most of their newer products, the Track Leather Jacket has a generous cut enabling you to buy it in your American size rather than upgrading by one size. The primary construction of the Track Leather is premium race grade cowhide which is one of the best leather materials you can use for abrasion resistance. The shoulders feature a triple layer of leather protection on top of the armor for a combination of impact and abrasion protection. The primary armor they use here is their top of the line Forcetech CE Rated armor in both the shoulders and elbows to give you ample protection from impact in the most vulnerable areas.

The flex material on the jacket is Spidi's Tenax flex material which provides great flexibility for uninhibited mobility in active riding scenarios. The jacket is not waterproof, but for an additional fee, you can purchase Spidi's H2Out liner separately, which is extremely easy to install. To keep you warm, they have included a thermal vest liner to keep the core of your body warm in cooler weather conditions. There are also mini vents located on the front of your shouders for airflow and cooling in racing conditions.

Overall, the Track Leather Jacket is a solid option for those looking for a leather motorcycle jacket and being Spidi's top end leather jacket. It should definitely be taken into consideration when looking for your new sport and track leather jacket.

Two leather jackets from Shift for today's review, the Shift Vendetta Leather Jacket and the Shift Vantage Leather Jacket. The Vendetta is a completely perforated warm to hot weather riding jacket while the Vantage is a classic leather, with subtle style and full motorcycle functionality. We feel strongly about the Shift Racing line of product and think they are a great fit for the street and sportbike rider, offering exceptional protective elements and overall functionality with excellent attention to styling detail.

The Vendetta is built for the rider in a hot weather climate or the motorcyclist looking for a solid hot weather jacket. At its core, the Vendetta is premium grain 1.2-1.4mm throughout the jacket with a full perforation scheme. This means enormous quantities of air flowing on the bike. The leather is also dual-layered in all impact areas for protection. Combine that with the CE rated shoulder and elbow armor, with a back pad upgradeable to CE protection and you've definitely got the safety elements in this jacket covered. The articulation and design is definitely for the 3/4 or tucked riding position, and there is strategic reflective piping throughout for nighttime visibility. For added seasonality, there is a quilted thermal vest liner that can be zipped in for Fall and Spring riding.

The Shift Vantage Leather Jacket offers a sleek, subtle design for the rider not trying to be overly flashy on the road. Utilizing 1.2-1.4mm premium grain cowhide leather for abrasion resistance, the Vantage is available in a muted Matte Black option (shown at right) and the Dark Vintage finish shown in the video. The Vantage has CE rated armor in the shoulders and elbows which can be removed if you so choose and a back pad that can be upgraded to a CE protector for added armor. There are zippered chest intake vents with a zippered rear exhaust vent for airflow. The Shift Vantage is articulated for the upright or 3/4 riding position. Lastly, the cuffs feature autolocking zippers that when in the "closed" position cannot be opened when there is wind rushing at you.

Icon Overlord Leather & Icon Overlord Textile Jacket Reviews

Brand new for Fall 2010, Icon has released the Overlord series of gear for the aggressive street and sportbike rider. To complement the Icon Overlord Gloves, there is the the Icon Overlord Leather Jacket and the Icon Overlord Textile Jacket. Both jackets feature Icon's brand new Attack Fit, which is an aggressive pre-curving for intense street riding. The leather version utilizes the most premium grade materials that Icon has used to date and the same can be said for the textile counterpart. The textile is built using the same pattern design and engineering principles as the leather, but the materials used offer a significantly lower price point.

The Icon Overlord Leather Jacket is built with Icon's premium Brazilian cowhide to form a 1.2-1.4mm high-grade leather chassis and designed to perform in multiple seasons out of the year. The leather is a blend of perforated and non-perforated for optimal airflow with tightly-woven mesh panels at the front of each shoulder. There is an additional mesh exhaust panel at the back of the neck with perforated leather in the mid-back to keep the air flowing. To extend the seasonality, there is a removable quilted vest liner to maintain insulation in the colder temperature ranges. Utilizing Icon's new Attack Fit, the Overlord is designed to be in the 3/4 or tucked position. To work in conjunction with the pre-curving, there are elasticated stretch panels at the backs of the elbows and backs of shoulders for ease of motion, in addition to stretch panels down the inner arms for airflow and a comfortable fit.

The Overlord Leather uses Icon's proprietary CE rated field armor in the shoulders and elbows and a dual-density foam back pad. This back protection can be upgraded to the Icon Stryker CE Back Protector to further your armor. Icon's attention to detail can be seen with subtle touches like the YKK Autolocking zippers at the wrist cuffs. When these are placed in the open position, the cuffs easily slide open, but when in the locked position, there is absolutely no way to open the cuffs, meaning they'll never fly open from the rushing wind. There is also a full 360º zip to connect this jacket to a pair of motorcycle pants. A great choice for the aggressive sportbike rider with an eye for style, the Icon Overlord Leather Jacket is sure to please the Icon loyalists.

Utilizing the same R+D and engineering as the leather counterpart, the Icon Overlord Textile Jacket is a water-resistant multi-season sportbike jacket that will keep the air flowing in the warm weather and keep you warm when the temperatures dip in the early Spring and late Fall. Built on the foundation of a durable nylon chassis, the Overlord Textile has ballistic fighter mesh panels in strategic areas, front intake vents with complementary exhausts in the back. There is stretch paneling on the inside of each arm that will help with airflow but also provide a comfortable and expandable fit. Both the backs of the elbows and backs of the shoulders feature elasticated stretch paneling that work to maintain the comfort of the jacket in the attack position.

Icon's CE Rated Field Armor is in the shoulders and the elbows, and the dual-density foam back pad can be upgraded to the Stryker CE Protector. The removable thermal vest liner helps when the temperatures are slightly cooler at the edges of the season. Coming in at $200 less than the leather version of this jacket, the Icon Overlord Textile Jacket is available in six colors and is a definite match for the urban sportbike rider.

REV'IT! Ignition Jacket: The Ultimate Summer Leather

Check out our quick video overview of the REV'IT! Ignition Leather Jacket. We think this leather is top of the heap for the summertime. We think you will too.

The Ignition has been a staple of the REV'IT! leather lineup for several years because of the versatility that it offers. With the exception of the bitterest cold, you can rock this jacket year-round. It's a combo of Dynax mesh and Monaco cowhide on the outside, but underneath you have two removable liners, one of which is the Hydratex® liner, a waterproof breathable

membrane. Pull them out and you're flowing a ton of air in the summer, zip them back in and you're covered in early winter. The Ignition Leather is also available as a ladies' jacket.
