February 2011 Motorcycle Deals & New Gear!

New for February 2011, we've some doorbuster blowout sales in addition to a bevy of fresh new gear hitting the site. Closeouts from AStars, REV'IT! and HJC, with new gear from Olympia, TCX Boots, Icon and more. Check out the video below for the all the details and don't miss the text support that follows for more information and links to the products!

First up are some blowout deals from HJC Helmets. The HJC Symax 2 Helmet (shown at right) is a popular flip-up helmet choice in the long-distance touring community, currently being blown out at $157, 43% off of its original price tag of $279.99. The baby brother to the Symax, the HJC CL-Max Helmet is slightly less feature-rich than the Symax 2, being blown out at $99.99, for a savings up to 41% off for the HJC CL-Max Evolve Helmet, a slick graphic version of this lid.

Making way for new race suits for the 2011 season, Alpinestars and REV'IT! are having an absolute fire sale. For AStars, three of their race suits are currently being blown out for up to 28% off. The Alpinestars MX-1 Suit was the second most-technical in their lineup before the Tech 1-R came along. It is currently $999.95, down from $1399.95. The Alpinestars SP-1 Race Suit is down to $649.95, down from $899.95, and the entry-level Alpinestars CR Race Suit is down to $599.95, from $699.95. Lastly, the REV'IT! TT Race Suit is down to $799.99, down from $1199.99, as they make way for the brand new Tarmac suit.

Moving on to new gear for this month:

Brand new Olympia gear is available for pre-order now and should be shipping out by the end of the month. We are extremely excited about their new products, highlights in our opinion being the Olympia AST 2 Jacket and the Olympia Moab Jacket. Also new are the Olympia Ranger 3 Over Pants, an all-season all-weather long-distance touring pant, their ladies' counterpart, the Olympia Women's Pro Max 2 Over Pants, and the Olympia Recon 3 Mesh Pants, a mid-Spring to mid-Fall sport and ADV touring pant. Finally, the Olympia Women's AST 2 Jacket is new and improved for 2011 as well.

We've been talking a ton about TCX Boots in the last few weeks and we're extremely excited to have them back in the mix. Also brand new for this month is the Icon Variant Salvo Hi-Viz Helmet, a safety-conscious helmet from Icon for the aggressive street riding crowd. Finally, the brand new REV'IT! Ranger WSP Jacket is in stock. Operating as a windstopping shell and an insulating layer, the Ranger is an upgrade to the extremely popular REV'IT! Digital Jacket. While REV'IT! wasn't planning to bring this into the States, we worked out a special deal and we've got a limited run in stock. Get `em before they're toast!

Also, this is a huge new product arrival this month: Bell Helmets. The brand new Bell RS-1 Helmet, designed for sport touring to compete with the RF-1100, the new Bell Revolver Helmet, the first modular helmet designed specifically for street riding, and the Bell Moto-9 Helmet, a game-changing dirt helmet, all hit the shelves this month. All of these helmets are going to be absolute home runs in their respective areas of the community.

That does it for February 2011, new gear and deals and steals at RevZilla.

Icon Variant Salvo & Salvo Hi-Viz Helmet: Brand New 2011 Lids

With motorcyclists becoming more and more cognizant of their safety on the roadway, manufacturers have been responding with gear that enhances safety, both with protective elements and with visibility. Icon Motosports has joined the ranks of its peers who are also making hi-viz gear. In Fall 2010, we saw the release of the Icon Alliance Hi-Viz Helmet, their first high visibility helmet. In Spring 2011, Icon will be taking these safety features to one of its most popular helmets, the Icon Variant Helmet. We will see the release of the Icon Variant Salvo Helmet and the Icon Variant Salvo Hi-Viz Helmet. While we haven't gotten our hands on one yet to do a RevZillaTV review, we do have some photos and some information that we've gathered.

The Icon Variant Salvo Helmet is designed to be black and sleek during the day but extremely bright at night time. The graphics utilize highly reflective paint that lights up like daytime when a motorists lights bounce off of it. Icon's idea for this helmet was to create a helmet that would provide higher levels of visibility and safety, but to mask all of this within a new graphical pattern. And they definitely succeeded with the edgy design of the Salvo that is also highly functional in night riding. The core of the Variant remains the same: Fiberglass, Carbon Fiber, Dyneema construction; long oval head shape; multiple intake and exhaust ports; removable and washable HydraDry moisture-wicking liner; quick-change fog-free shield; and much more.

The Icon Variant Salvo Hi-Viz Helmet takes the reflectivity of the regular Salvo to the next level by utilizing bright fluorescent yellow paint on the shell, to work in conjunction with the reflective graphics. It is also available in a fluorescent orange version.

Stay tuned for our video review of this helmet when we can get our hands on one!
